Support the action of ASH against the tobacco industry to protect human rights!

An open-ended intergovernmental working group on transnational corporations and other business enterprises with respect to human rights (OEIGWG) has been tasked with creating a legally binding instrument on businesses and human rights in the US. These actions could have a negative and wide impact on the tobacco control community.

ASH drafted a series of documents, including a letter to express a common view on the draft LBI, suggesting that it should reflect the fact that tobacco companies, inclusive of transnational tobacco corporations, and also those using the tobacco industry playbook, such as fossil fuels, junk food, soda, as examples are incompatible with adherence to any human rights-based structure.

After few rounds of drafting to which the FCTC Secretariat also participated, ASH is inviting the civil society to support this action.

If you are interested in signing on, please submit your information down below, no later than today, 18 February!
